Kassie Dummett is an Australian Artist currently living in Mexico. After completing a Masters Degree in Art, her initial practice was in abstraction and mixed media works.

 

The desire to develop more traditional technical skills in painting, to inform later abstracted works, led her to plein air painting. This practice has taken her around the world, often joining like minded painters, in places such as England, France, Italy, Carmel, Napa Valley, New York, her home town of Sydney, Australia, as well as her current home in San Miguel Allende in Mexico.

 

Currently over the last 2 years, her practice has expanded again into abstraction, often using plein air studies of the landscape and urban scenes to inform and inspire larger abstracted paintings.

This exhibition “Between Then & Now” showcases a range of work with some explorations, elaborating elements such as colour and form from figurative work, into larger abstracted compositions.

​

In this “between” space the creative process can be revealed, explored and contemplated. Her work is currently in private collections in Mexico, USA and Australia.
